Why secretaries wear pantyhose every day? i just wonder..because of smelly feet or dangling shoes in nylons..hm! | | to look professional | Ideas to dressup for halloween- secretary? As a crossdresser, I look forward to halloween every year.
I am thinking of dressing up as a secretary, wearing pencil skirt, blouse, pantyhose, and pumps.
Any other ideas? | | Sounds like you have your outfit pretty well thought out.....I would just add some props like a note pad and pen/pencil. | Any secretaries out there who wear black pantyhose and remove their heels at their desk?? I have a thing for secretaries who wear hose! | | BLAH BLAH BLAH | Why do some women wear fishnet pantyhose and stilettos to work? do they not realize that is not office attire? my boss sent home a secretary dressed that way. this is a law office for God's sake, have some class,LOL. but i have seen many women in Atlanta dressed like that in an office, what's the deal? | | Good for your boss to have done that! Fishnets don't only look out of place in the workplace, but everywhere and anytime. And they definitely don't deserve to be called pantyhose. They look really disgusting, tasteless and so ugly that there are no words for it. They are one of the most horrible inventions and even almost make the sloppy and trashy bare leg look of nowadays look good. | Ladies is it true that your feet are more sweaty if wearing pantyhose? i noticed funny feet odor at my office, do secretaries have smelly feet? | | One day, I am going to give a star to every fetish question I see, and count up all the stars I give at the end of the day.... | Secretary, hooters outfit, or school girl? As a crossdresser, halloween is my favorite time of the year. I am trying to get an opinion if I should be a secretary wearing a pencil skirt, pantyhose, heels, blouse; wear a hoooters outfit, or dress up as a school girl? | The school girl look has been done to death.
If you go out as a secretary, be prepared to get asked about taking dic-tation. Yeah, it's a bad joke, but lots of guys will be hoping.
So of the three, maybe the Hooters outfit would be the best choice. | Comfortable pantyhose for work, is there such a thing? I know a little off topic to say the least, but I am hoping for advice, and I will take it wear I can find it.
So I got a new job, its in a lawyers office as a secretary, seems almost everybody wears skirts and pantyhose, heels ext.....
Anyway thats not my normal dress by any means, I am really a tom boy.
Any outfit ideas? Suggestions?
Also I think pantyhose is uncomfortable, expensive, brittle, well you get the idea.
So like do you have any suggestions for brands?
Or styles that might be comfortable to wear for work?
How many pairs do you think I should have to be prepared for work?
Tips?
I don't know maybe I will just get used to wearing this stuff, who knows? | Looks like you are working in a very professional environment if hose is necessary.
Dress pants are always nice, and you can wear those lovely knee highs with that. Or trouser socks.
I used to have to dress pretty professional too, and I would get CVS brand hose when wearing a skirt. It's cheap and works just as well as the other brands. There is also those 3-packs that are good too. Like No Nonsense is ok.
I have never bought hose from a department store. Some of it looks cool, but you realize the stuff at the drug store is much more affordable and just as good. Unless you're into stockings! :)
Congrats on the job! | Comfortable pantyhose for work? So I got a new job, its in a lawyers office as a secretary, seems almost everybody wears skirts and pantyhose, heels ext.....

try the following brands with greatest support for your legs(especially if you work long hours or on your feet all day).
1: Hanes Alive (Macy's or Nordstrom's / $9 a pair)
2: Leggs Active Support (any discount store / $4 to $5 a pair)
3: Oroblu Repros (Nordstrom's / $18 a pair)
4: Burlington's Support (Burlington Coat Factory / $5 to $7 pair)
5: Nordstrom's Sheer Support ( about $7 to $9 a pair) | Need Pantyhose/outfit ideas help, for new dress code please.? So I got a new job, its in a lawyers office as a secretary, seems almost everybody wears skirts and pantyhose, heels ext.....

I don't know maybe I will just get used to wearing this stuff, who knows? | Avoid the cheap drug store pantyhose. Those are the pantyhose that women who hate pantyhose buy, and then they wonder why they hate them! They hate them because they're scratchy, saggy, and rough. Avoid all those problems by getting good quality pantyhose from the department store. My personal preference is for Donna Karan New York, but there are certainly plenty of other affordable options that are vastly superior to No Nonsense, George, L'eggs, and the other el cheapo varieties. Styles are entirely up to you. Personally, I vary between control tops and sheer to waist, depending on my skirts and my mood.
I would keep a steady supply of skin toned pantyhose (at least 4 or 5 pair at any given time), and at least 2 black pantyhose on hand. Make sure you lotion your hands before you put them on, to avoid any snagging on rough skin, and make sure your nails are free of any sharp edges or points to avoid pulls and runs. Black pantyhose really show pulls, so you do need to be careful. | What should I wear in a professional environment? I start work as a legal secretary next week at a local firm. I have been told the dress is business formal. What exactly does that mean? Can I get away with pant suits? What kind of makeup can I wear? Do I have to wear stockings or pantyhose? Is it wrong to wear open toed shoes or sandals? | Pant suits should work, as long as they fit well. Given however that they say it is "Business Formal," I'd wait and not wear a pants suit until I'd been there a few days and saw what is accepted and what isn't.
Whatever you wear, make sure that it is comfortable and you can move around easily. You'll be doing a lot of reaching, getting things in and out of file cabinets, high shelves, etc. so you want to make sure the armholes and sleeves fit well.
Go easy on the makeup until you see what the other women are wearing. I'd say, a touch of very flattering, lighter (not too rich) shade of lipstick would be best for the first day.
Yes, if you are wearing a dress or skirt, definitely wear pantyhose. You will look much more professional.
Law firms tend to be very conservative, and you will do much better, be more comfortable in that environment, etc. if you dress more formally.
The firm say sthe dress code is "business formal," so err on the side of extra conservative.
Do NOT wear open-toed shoes or sandals unless you see many others (including those who have been there for some time) wearing them.
Ask the secretaries who have been there for a long time for advice! Remember that the smart women lawyers have but one dress code -- "Look like you're worth your billing rate!" The attorneys and the management there will appreciate it if their staff presents a highly professional image. A professional appearance of everyone at the firm does make a difference to its clients, and you will be more comfortable, and more likely to advance, too. |
