How to skip ninth grade?
I'm going to eighth grade this year, and I want to skip ninth grade. I went to private Catholic school since pre-school, and I was held back in third grade because of my ITBS test score of 32% (It was very unusual, I don't know how I got a score so low compared to my other scores from before and after then.) I live in North Carolina, and I want to skip a grade and learn with my friends. I know it's too late for me to skip this year, so I want to plan ahead and try skipping ninth. I know what it's like being late to try to skip a grade because I remember my first day of school last year in seventh grade, and I ran into the vice principal and asked him if I could skip a grade, and he said something about it being against the law and he didn't want to talk about it. I cried my eyes out, too.

I was wondering if I could do anything before, during, and after this school year so I could be able to skip ninth grade. I'll do extra work, tests, studying, I'll even transfer to public school if I have to. It may not sound like I want to skip because of my friends, but I really want to start learning at the same grade as them.

I was devastated when I found out I was being held back that year. I was notified in mid November that year which I think was in 2003. I cried every single day. I received extra tutoring that year, and the year after. The next year of third grade really messed up my mind. I had a teacher that I bet WANTED to show me her upskirts. Sorry, you should have skipped 8th grade - once you get to high school that whole 'skipping grades' thing is out. You can take the classes you're ready to take, so if you're a year ahead in math you can take math with your friends. But you can't skip 9th grade math or science or English - the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade classes build on them. 8th grade is really the last year you could have skipped entirely - if you were ready for high school math, science, English, etc.
